I took up photography as a hobby when still at school, and after leaving Mt. Lawley High School in 1960, I gained employment in a Perth photography business. My time in this business enabled me to gain practical skills in wedding photography, portrait photography, commercial and aerial photography as well as the copying and restoration of old photographs.

Whether working on a personal project or on an assignment, my objectives are the same. They are to absorb and to share genuine experience from my years as a professional photographer and photo restorer.

In 1972 I established my own photography business in Perth WA and I have worked in it continuously since then. I have participated in many seminars in Australia and overseas on various aspects of photography and have served on the state council of The West Australian Institute of Professional Photography and also on the council of The Professional Photographers Association of Western Australia, of which I am a past president.
